Being Present with our Filters

Our Filters Color Everything!
3

Good morning!

I learned many decades ago about the importance of filters because, as it turns out, everything we think, feel, believe, learn, experience and more is completely and utterly dependent on them.

The challenging aspect of this is that unless we’re cognizant of this fact, AND our filters, they become like the water a fish swims in…purposeful but perhaps invisible to the creature itself.

This little exploration on one of my recent hikes was simply looking for a few minutes at the idea of our filters.

I have many I’m aware of and certainly more that I’m UNaware of, even at the ripe old age of 67 (how on earth did I get to be 67?).

Here are just a few of the filters I’m aware of…

  • Everything works out (one way or another).

  • People are good and when they aren’t, it’s because they were messed up as kids or simply having a really bad day. I see all adults through a belief that they are just large little kids.

  • Bodies love to heal. This is a big one considering the health journey I’m on.

  • Bodies are meant to move, not sit.

  • I question therefore I am!

  • Time reveals the past. In other words, we just don’t know how this is going to turn out YET.

  • I’m OK right now.

  • And one of my favorite and most used filters…tomorrow will be a different day.

I’m sure there are so many more filters that I’m completely unaware of yet and I’m really looking forward to continually discovering more of what creates my own humanity.

Tell me a couple of yours! Can’t wait to hear from you.

I offer you presence in all things. Thanks for being here…I appreciate you.

Elisabeth…

My personal philosophy…“I question therefore I am.”
