Being Present with Seasons

I’m 67. I’m not really sure what that means in dog years let alone people years. I do know it seems odd because I remember being 18, and 29, and 42.

There are other years that stand out in my memory but those are ones I specifically recall for one reason or another. And there are certainly ages I don’t want to remember at all!

THE Seasons

What I mean by ‘the’ seasons is spring, summer, fall and winter. Most of us are aware of what these times in the year represent and bring but I’m not sure most people are really present with the zillions of subtle nuances of each.

I, like so many others, have a preference and adoration for late spring and early summer. The reason is so obvious…birth, more birth, buds, flowers, fruit, gardens, bees and more bees and MORE bees.

I love bees! Especially bumble bees. They are so CUTE and if you know how to do it, you can even pet them. Sometimes they try to shoo you away with a back leg but most of the time they simply tolerate you and go on with their buzzing.

YOUR Seasons

By this I mean the seasons of our lives. We have all heard the phrase and I would assume most are pretty aware of what season they are in but what if…

• The season you’re in isn’t one you want to be in YET?

• The season you’re in isn’t obvious?

• The season you’re in isn’t as fun and enjoyable as you’d imagined?

So many considerations when it comes to the seasons of our lives.

In today’s little exploration, I invite you to be present with both types of seasons and I give you some examples and considerations for doing so.

What season am I in? That’s such a great question. I honestly am not sure. I do know I’m being forced to go through a phase I’m not ready for yet and I’m probably doing so while kicking and screaming but I’ll get through it.

My plan is to actually regress and go back a couple of seasons once this one is past. I’ll let you know how that goes.
